May Chidiak, the 'Peter Jennings' of the Christian owned Lebanese Broadcasting Company International (LBCI) was critically injured by a cowardly terrorist act aimed at silencing the mainly Christian led anti-Syrian opposition. Although there are many leads to the perpetrators of these vicious terrorist acts, there yet remains any concrete evidence to link any single individual or group. With the FBI and other international agencies in Lebanon, the investigation is certianly heating up especially since those who are being targeted are so influencial in Lebanon. With the exception of the former Prime minister Rafiq al-Hariri, all the targets of these cowardly terrorist acts have been mainly Christians.

The Victims

Samir Qassir an influential editor and journalist at the An Nahar Newspaper was killed in a car bombing earlier this year; Elias Mur the defense minister survived an attempt on his life; and just a couple of days ago May Chidiak survived a car-bombing in a Christian suburb north of Beriut.

The Solution

Samir Geagea must return to Lebanon and demand Emile Lahoud resign immediately so that the complete transition to independence from foriegn-influences can occur. Christians of Lebanon must unite with the former warlord, and not with Michel Aoun who has in the past undermined Christian priorities and concerns. The Lebanese Forces must respond to these cowardly attacks, so that the systemic flow of the Christians from Lebanon can be stopped. Neither Terrorism nor discrimination will keep us from our land that our forefathers lived on. We will not be driven away, but fight for our God given rights.

It's time for the Arab Christians to teach the terrorists the real meaning of Jihad. The Cross must be firmly planted in the Middle East.
